Helga Valfells - New Business Venture Fund
Helga Valfells is an Investment Manager at the New Business Venture Fund (NBVF). The NBVF is a venture capital fund which invests in, and actively supports Icelandic start-ups with significant growth potential. Helga has enjoyed a diverse career in finance and international marketing. Previous employers include Estee Lauder UK, Merrill Lynch Europe and the Trade Council of Iceland, where Helga worked with a wide range of export companies in the early stages of export including a number of companies in the music industry.
Helga has also been an entrepreneur and an independent consultant to a number of export companies from Iceland, UK and Canada. Most recently, Helga worked as a non political advisor to the Icelandic Minister of Business Affairs.
Helga holds a BA degree in Economics and English literature from Harvard University and a MBA from London Business School. She is married with three children aged two, nine and twelve.
