Rúnar Ómarsson - Nikita Clothing
Rúnar Ómarsson is a 39 year old retired breakdancer from Reykjavik, Iceland. He is a University (law) dropout, his excuse being "too much fresh snow in the mountains." He co-founded Nikita Clothing out of his snowboard/clothing store in January 2000, and has held the title „GM/Moral Support“ at the company until this day. Nikita Clothing is one of the best known Icelandic consumer brands and is designed in Iceland and distributed through 1500 specialty stores in 32 countries.
The company has its HQ in Reykjavík, but subsidiaries in Hamburg/Germany, San Francisco/USA and Sydney/Australia. Nikita has received numerous recognitions and awards within the boardsports & street fashion industry for design and marketing of their brand and product. In their „spare time“, Rúnar & Nikita Clothing have co-produced several music albums and assisted Icelandic musicians marketing themselves outside of Iceland, most recently the albums of 18 year old blues/soul wundergirl Elín Ey ( check out a live performance) and ambient father/son duo Stereo Hypnosis.
