Bróðir Svartúlfs was formed in a small town in the north of Iceland by a weird poet, metal drummer, bass player who's actually a guitar player, and a guy who had just bought a syntheziser without having any idea how to use it. We had no big plans or expectations whatsoever and the main thing was to jam some music while the rapper spit his lyrics to it. After a couple of jam sessions we hit something we thought might be a cool song but it lacked something so we decided to ask a friend if he‘d play a guitar with us and when he joined the party, Bróðir Svartúlfs was drunk and looking for girls
Two small gigs later we decided to enter the well respected competition ‘Músíktilraunir’ (the Icelandic battle of the bands) like many other bands but the cool thing about it is that we won. It helped us alot with getting into the Icelandic music scene and the band has been playing a lot here and there since then, having some songs played on the radio.
It‘s pretty hard to talk about what kind of music we play and we‘ve heard all kinds of weird explanations but the best way to describe it in our opinion is that the music might be a mixture of Sigurrós and Rage Against the Machine but ofcourse everyone should judge for themselves.
But even though we don‘t know if it‘s more rock or hip hop we can guarantee great lyrics, and music straight from our hearts and hopefully a great show with smoke machines and disco lights.
