Dyrdin was formed in Reykjavik in 1994, as far as we remember. Einar and Maggi, have both played in various underground rock groups for a few years, and we teamed up with Thorvaldur Gröndal, to produce silly little pop songs with a twist in Maggi's bedroom. We got hold of a Dr. Rhythm drum machine, and a saggy old keyboard, and started churning out tunes on a Tascam 4-track Portastudio. We soon realized these songs needed female vocals, and Einar's sister was hastily recruited and forced to record Hunangsdropar in a studio without a proper rehearsal. Obviously she was right for the job, and has stayed with us ever since. The band took a long break but we reformed in 2003. In 2005 we made a short, fun trip to the USA where we played at Popfest in Northampton. We also played in New York and Boston. We went again to Popfest in 2006 and met our heroes, The Icicles, and played with them in NYC. The drummer Tóti joined our band during the summer of 2005, and in July 2006 Sigrún Eirík
