Hallur Ingólfsson is a very versatile musician. A composer in high demand for films, television and theater, as well as leading rock bands XIII and Skepna, and producing albums for other artists. His solo career is far from mainstream, but all the more appealing all the same, drawing heavily from the dramatic compositions for film and theater. His second solo album "Öræfi" (Wasteland) is instrumental and dramatic and feels like a journey through the icelandic wilderness. Big and raw music played by a small band. Hard to describe but names like David Lynch, Angelo Badalamenti, Ennio Morricone and Mogwai come to mind.
