The journey of the Icelandic progressive metalcore band WISTARIA started two years ago. At the very beginning recordings started on a promo album called Beneath the Wistaria which included five songs. Since then the lineup has changed a little. Now equipped with both new singer and bass player, WISTARIA is currently recording their first full-length album which will be out later this year (2010). The album is recorded by the members of the band. WISTARIA have been very busy playing live at every possible event and are well recognized in the Icelandic metal scene. In the newspaper Morgunblaðið they were described as “so tight that water wouldn‘t run through it” by the journalist Arnar Eggert Thoroddsen. The most memorable gig in the band‘s history is when they warmed up for the globally recognized band Black Dahlia Murder. WISTARIA have played with most of the Icelandic metal bands including Severed Crotch, Beneath, Celestine, Changer, Dark Harvest, Palmprint in Blood, Embrace the Plague, Endless Dark, Darknote and many, many more. WISTARIA are known for their massive wall of distorted guitars, deep surge of screams, melodic and emotional solos, high-tempo double bass and blastbeats.
