Alda Music is a label founded in Reykjavik in 2016 by the musicians Sölvi Blöndal (Quarashi) and Ólafur Arnalds, along with other music passionate partners.
Alda Music took over the music sector and catalogue from Sena, formerly the biggest publisher of music in Iceland with a vast catalogue spanning all the way back to the 1950’s. This iconic catalogue is the backbone of the company but Alda Music seeks to adapt to new ideas in the music consumer market, heavily emphasising on the stream on demand model and services like Spotify and youtube, bringing the old catalogue towards the future making it available to the music enthusiast anywhere on the globe.
Ambitious new artist releases intertwined with the more established artists on Alda Music’s carefully curated roaster make for a perfect mix where the new and the classics elevate each other towards a brighter future in music.
