Sundlaugin has in the past few years mainly served as the working space for Sigur Ros, but when not in use by them, many of the leading alternative artists in Iceland have recorded, mixed and mastered there, such as amiina, Mugison, Petur Ben, Jeff Who?, múm, slowblow and Benni Hemm Hemm to name a few. It’s strength lies in a good combination of tried and trusted vintage gear mixed with the flexibility of today’s digital technology. High ceilings and wide walls along with the 3 iso-booths make it favorable for live recordings and big drum sounds. The studio and surroundings offer a creative and relaxing atmosphere in one of Reykjavik’s greenest areas and at the same time, downtown Reykjavik is only 15 minute drive away.
