Iceland @ By:Larm!
This year's By:Larm festival in Oslo (18th-20th February) is looking to be one of the best editions yet. The program is full of exciting acts from all over Scandinavia: almost fifty handpicked Norwegian demo bands, thirty Nordic artists (five of them from Iceland!), twenty or so folk-/jazz- and roots artists as well as fifty more established Norwegian names ready to break internationally.
The five Icelandic bands picked to play are heavy post-rock outfit For A Minor Reflection, the delightful Seabear, pop queen Hafdís Huld, classical composer Jóhann Jóhannsson and experimentalist Kira Kira.
