As Norway’s annual By:Larm event gets underway, Iceland has already made quite an impact. Hjaltalín who have never played in Norway before, played to a packed house at Oslo Kongresssenter last night, then serenaded the nation today on Good Morning Norway, one of the biggest national TV shows.
Hjaltalín’s euphonious sound is perfect wake up music, though on this occasion the band played ‘Þú komst við hjartað í mér’ or ‘You touched my heart,’ a cover of an Páll Óskar/Toggi song that won Best Song earlier this week at the Iceland Music Awards.
The TV2 presenter named Hjaltalín as the “new stars” from the Saga Island and praised them for their clever arrangements alongside sensational pop melodies. You can read the full article here. Retro Stefson also played two well-received gigs at the event, and Ólafur Arnalds is sure to wow crowds tonight and tomorrow night. And if you’re in Oslo town, don’t forget that Hjaltalín and Retro Stefson play again tonight. You’d be plain crazy to miss it!
