Sigur Rós reveal INNI (plus Jonsi’s new film score)

Sigur Ros have recently sparked an avalanche of discussion by posting a mysterious new clip on their website. Called Inni the clip appeared to be a teaser for a larger project that was speculated to be a new album but is most likely to be a clip from a forthcoming live / audio CD/ DVD based on two gigs in Alexandra Palace in London from 2008. The project has been directed by Vincent Morisset (who also did the Arcade Fire documaentary “Miroir Noir") and will premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
In other cinematic Sigur Ros news the band’s singer Jonsi has been commissioned to score the Cameron Crowe film “We Bought A Zoo.” According to Pitchfork Jonsi will score the forthcoming film from Almost Famous/Say Anything director Cameron Crowe. Based on Benjamin Mee’s memoir, the film stars Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson, Thomas Haden Church, and Elle Fanning and is set to open on December 23rd, 2011. As the article points out, Crowe has a history with Sigur Rós, having previously licensed their music for the 2001 sci-fi film Vanilla Sky.
