Steed Lord Rip Up North America
August 7th, 2008 | News
Icelandic electro renegades Steed Lord are currently rippin’ it up in North America. Following a couple of high profile support gigs with the mighty Chromeo and a string of successful West Coast shows, the band are currently continuing their merry jaunt through the USA and Canada.
For a band without any official release the success of the tour has been impressive, says the band’s manager Róbert Aron Magnússon, with packed houses and audiences singing along to their tracks. "The main goal of this tour was simply to service those markets that we are getting the most responses from via MySpace and to get their name out there," says Magnússon. "Already we ‘re getting requests for more bookings later this winter."
The crew seemed no less enthusiastic yesterday as they waited to board a plane to Austin, Texas. "Last night we played at Wasted Space in Las Vegas and it was crazy," enthused M.E.G.A. "The tour has been off the wall fun for us and a huge success. A lot of fans coming out and singing their ass off to our tracks and the gigs are packed with heat. House of Blues in San Diego with Chromeo was nuts – sold out and the crowd was rowdy. Our tour T-shirt has been selling like hotcakes. The next four days are gonna be hardcore… Austin, Dallas, Toronto & Chicago in a row. We luuuuuuv it!"
